As expected. Another great album! Mar 02, 2010 I absolutely love Anywhere But Here album! I love Kids In Love, Bruised and Scared and I Swear This Time I Mean It. I went to their show a couple of days ago, they sounded good!

Not as great as to be expected Nov 11, 2009 Being a huge mayday parade fan for awhile, I couldn't wait to hear more, I still listen to a Lesson in Romantics almost every day, and even saw them in concert for the second time about a week before the release of Anywhere But Here. Unfortunatly, Anywhere But Here is a bit disappointing. The clever word play and fun music just isn't to the same calibur as their previous stuff. While i do feel like instrumentally the music has matured, and I like Derek's voice as much as ever, i felt as though the substance of the songs were lacking. Alot of the songs were mirrors of each other and very simple lyric wise. I myself didn't feel like they had that one incredible song that makes you get up and dance or that one incredible ballad that almost brings you to tears on this cd, just a bunch of songs that were ok and good, and maybe 1 or 2 a little better than that. whereas i felt that a lesson in romantics provides plenty of great tracks. Listening to this at times I found myself forgetting that i was listening to one of my favorite bands, and thinking that i was listening to some whiny emo kid i was unfamilar with. Now saying that, the record is not bad, and figuring I was expecting greatness it's natural that I was disappointed. If you're not a hardcore fan you'll probably enjoy the cd, it's like alot of the alternative/pop-punk you hear on the radio. And if you already are a fan I think you can find some really good aspects in it as long as you don't try to compare it a lesson in romantics. I feel like it's one of those albums that the more I listen to it, the more I like it, and find new things in it to appreciate. Instrumentally and vocally I like it alot, but lyrically it could do better...... Sorry if, i'm a little confusing, I think i'm still in shock at the change the band has taken, lol

MAyday goes Downhill Nov 04, 2009 A Lesson in Romantics was one of my all time favorite albums. I still can't get enough of it. Unfortunately it looks like with this new album, Mayday Parade has abandoned their thoughtful Lyrics, catchy vocals, and all around charisma. This new album is full of pathetic watered down "filler" that plagues the scene every so often. I think they used every cliche in the book, signing "I'm bruised and scarred, save me from this broken heart" and "Every night she cries, she dies a little more inside" ... the entire album sounds like this. I think he uses the word "falling" about 15 times throughout the album. I didn't think that Jason Lancaster had that much influence on the bands last album but apparently I was wrong. Whoever wrote the lyrics this time around couldn't even step inside his shoes, let alone fill them. I bought the album in good faith without listening to it because the last one was so phenomenal but I want my money back. The only people I can see liking this album are the fans of Good Charlottes "The Young and The Hopeless". This is a sad day for scene music...

Anywhere But Here is anything but ordinary Oct 16, 2009 The new Mayday Parade album, Anywhere But Here, absolutely rocks! It has everything from happy, upbeat, tunes to ballads fulls of beautifully written lyrics. These guys are amazing. I don't think I've ever heard a single song by them that wasn't instantly soothing to my ears! Anyone who buys this album will NOT be disappointed.

Amazing... Absolutely amazing. <3 Oct 15, 2009 The new Mayday Parade cd is so amazing. I haven't even had it for a full day and I love it. The vocals are beautiful. Everyone is complaining about Jason leaving... But I think the band is still awesome. The lyrics are still meaningful and they are still very emotional. I recommend picking this cd up. My favorite song is I Swear This Time I Mean It.
I'm a huge Mayday Parade fan. <3
