Well rounded pedal but is missing some features. Jun 13, 2010 This pedal is great for someone who wants to throw some general delay on their sound but if you want to get intense I would suggest looking at other pedals or rack-mount units. The Eventide delay pedal has save functions and the ability to have 2 separate delays in each amp. It's $400 so I went with this. I'm not disappointed at all but here are some cons.
One thing I noticed is, in stereo mode, there is the option to have one amp with effect, and the other without effect (direct). The second stereo mode is both amps ping pong the delay back and forth to sound bigger. The problem here is there is no "phase out". Phase out means that when the effect is not active, the signal is dry for that amp like in mono mode. With this pedal, when you hook up two amps, you either get ping and pong or wet amp and direct amp.
My FV5 BOSS volume/ "expression" pedal had no effect. The DD6 has a built in expression, this one you have to go out and get an extra pedal or two. This pedal has a built in tap tempo. (Hold down switch for 2 sec, tap a few times, hold down 2 sec, boom.)
When you hit a note in delay and click the pedal off, the delay lightly fades out. When you're in one setting of delay and a note is ringing out, switching to another delay setting will completely and abruptly end the ringing. (Instead of fading out.)
When feedback is turned all the way up, in some settings your signal will get louder and louder and louder so be careful and be sure to hit the switch before it gets too crazy (remember it has to fade out too).
I didn't notice any difference in tone which is great. People think analog is great but I like using the second longest MS setting as your delay sound is that of your originally hit chord. (Analog makes the delay a bit muffled)
There's a loop function but it plays over and over until you reach down and switch the mode. I'd rather they spent this memory on a delay setting save bank.
Excellent pedal but if you're in an ambient band or something, I would suggest a rack unit as they have many many functions.
A perfect delay! May 28, 2010 This is the best Delay I have tried thus far. Extremely versatile and, as is typical with all boss pedals; absolutely sturdy! A delay is such a necessary addition to one's personal effects, and I really cannot emphasize enough just how perfectly this works in pretty much any style of music! Well worth the price!! Item was shipped in a timely manner and with secured packaging.
After all very good delay May 25, 2010 After all very good delay. I strongly criticize this pedal in my previous review, but I had to change my opinion. I'm playing guitar for 25 years and never used any pedals besides wah-wah. I like the distortion right out of my tube amp, However I start to play concerts, so I thought that delay can help me. I use it between guitar and amp and couldn't get a good sound. Few days ago I give it last chance and plugged in to effect loop in my amp WHAT A CHANGE. Now DD-7 sounds as suppose to, no distorted sound at all and, I can finally use the loop mode. Sorry BOSS, I'm a lame.dd3.

The Delay Pedal Mar 02, 2010 This pedal is awesome. Not only does the DD-7 offer standard dealy and echo it also has reverse delay, modulation, and loop functions. It's capable of looping up to 40 seconds of play which is a wonderful tool for writing two and three part harmonies or working out timing. This pedal is amazing and I highly recomend it for any guitar player. Most of my pedals are Boss because they only build their equipment to industrial strength and standards. This means their stuff is made to last. No flimsy plastics, cheap rubber, or faulty components or parts will cut it in Boss's supieror product line.

delay bunch of setting but..1 usable setting Feb 10, 2010 Everyone has different tastes when it comes to delay, for me I was looking for a delay pedal that I could run out in stereo (which this has) and have some nice usable delay options.
The good: on a specific setting you can attain a nice managable delay, for a matisyahu or eric johnson type sound. There are multiple settings that are unmanageable and therefor unusable which I don't think add any value to the pedal, which is why i rated it 4 stars. A nice durable delay with 1 or 2 settings is all I get out of it.
