Tego with another great album Apr 14, 2008 I thought Contra-Ataca was awesome the first time I listened to it. However, I wanted to give it a few more listens before writing comments. After listening to this album several more times I have to say this is a very solid effort from Tego.
Abayarde, Enemy de los Guasibiri, and El Subestimado are all excellent albums. Contra-Ataca is an evolution of Tego's music and is just as good as the aforementioned albums. Reggaeton purists may be turned off by the many influences on Tego's past couple albums, but I really dig it. In fact, I wish Tego would do some more stuff down the road that incorporates more salsa and reggae.
There's plenty of pure reggaeton music out there, so it's nice to have something a little bit different. Tego is doing his own thing and it works well. Contra-Ataca has interesting beats and is well-produced. The lyrics are also good. Much like Wyclef and The Roots, Tego has a ton of creativity and is not afraid to break off from the mainstream to try something fresh. I look very forward to listening to his future albums.

Can`t compete with "the underdog" Dec 29, 2007 Not much tracks on it and it is not a bit as good as his former release "the underdog". Sorry, I hope he will soon release another good one.
wow, what an album Oct 21, 2007 This is very much a change from his previous music. It is refreshing to see that he is expanding his horizons. Unlike the typical reggaeton musicians that sing about sex, Tego's lyrics on this album are enlightening and moving. He incorporates different muscic styles into this album in a flawless manner. I hope that other musicians in this genre follow his lead and and continue to expand the horizons of reggaeton by incorporating different styles into their music and compose some meaningful songs; Good reggaeton songs do not have to be only about sex. Tego, echa palante.
