Imo the best Zeppelin album Aug 07, 2010 Every song on here is just great and/or a classic. On top of that it was put out only months after zep's first album. Yet they managed to release some of their most well known classics like Whole lotta love, Heartbreaker ect. Lastly the guitar tone on this is one of the best i've heard on any album.
Thank You Jul 21, 2010 This album turned me on to Led Zeppelin and I've never looked back. The new film "It Might Get Loud" reminded me again of what a special guitarist Jimmy Page is and it also sent me back to listening to these classic tracks. Admittedly I just bought 1 track because I already have the album. The CD looks a little scratched now but it still plays fine. Led Zeppelin endures and their music has certainly stood the test of time. Judging by other comments related to the film it seems most people still think of Led Zep as one of the greatest and deservedly so. Every track on here shimmers with blues rock power and skillful songwriting. Incredible performances from the whole band and the underrated John Paul Jones shines on the organ of Thank You, something not everyone realizes is him. My personal favorite is "What Is And What Should Never Be" but everything on here is fantastic. If you don't know it yet, buy this album!

Great song - don't buy from Amazon May 29, 2010 They are now forcing you to use their crappy "Amazon MP3 Download software" It doesn't work on my computer, so now I 1) don't have my music, 2) am out the cost of the album, 3) find out they won't let you buy the album any other way for some silly reason.
Try a different website.
Led Zeppelin May 18, 2010 One of my all time favorite collection of songs. Rock, blues, great guitar riffs, great vocals, great bass, great drums, these songs have it all.

this jury is out on SHM CDs.... May 14, 2010 I bought the SHM version of Led Zeppelin II from japan because I hoped I could get a better sounding CD of a classic album and band. I am a big fan of Zeppelin. I have all the remastered CDs (1994?) I own Led Zeppelin 2003 DVD, and The Song remains The Same remastered DVD. I also have a paige/plant video called No Quarter and a couple of greatest hits. I paid $25 for this SHM (super high molecular) material CD. I am also a HiFi buff.
I didn't know what to expect from this CD. maybe I was hoping on less distortion or smoother highs. some people have said that SHM cds sound more "warm" or "analog" maybe even "vinyl" (minus scratches I guess). I just had a quick listen to both CDs again... The SHM cd has a greater amount of low volume elements in the sound. softer parts of vocal reverb, more subtleties of cymbals and instrument timbre's and the overall volume of the tracks are not pushed right up to 0db and do not feel as squished in the mix. resulting in lower distortion. overall I prefer the SHM cd, but I'm not sure if alot of these "improvements" will be heard on an average stereo.
The packaging is a CD sized replica of the original bi-fold album sleeve. there is also a paper/mylar? sleeve (no LZ printing on it). The disc itself looks similar the the US Atlantic CD except some of the colors are different. THE DISC IS ***NOT*** A MINI REPLICA OF A VINYL RECORD. the SHM cd does come with an extra white paper booklet (printed in japanese with english lyrics) I can't read Japanese, but there appears to be a review or history of the band and maybe discussions about the songs on the disc.
Overall I prefer the SHM disc, but I might not get more of the SHM cds because of the price.
If you are a big Led Zeppelin fan and have a very high quality stereo, you might want to at least pick up your favorite album on SHM from japan. enjoy
