Description:

The soundtrack to Road Trip veers away from the contemporary practice of hiring third-string alternative bands to cover classic rock tunes. That fact alone gives this entertaining collection a leg up on its filler-happy brethren. Road Trip--a cross-country, hormone-heavy romp featuring Canada's favorite headcase, Tom Green--boasts cuts from the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Kid Rock (featuring Uncle Kracker), Buckcherry, and even Minnie Riperton. The underrated "Voodoo Lady" by Ween gets a second chance, as do Run DMC's "It's Tricky" and Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock," which sounds awfully quaint several years after frontman Dee Snider's ugly mug scared a nation. The shifting gears--from rock to rap to pop to soul--make this vehicle work as both a film soundtrack and a great disc for a road trip of your own. --Jason Josephes

5Brilliant  Apr 04, 2010
Not one of my favourite movies of all time but the soundtrack rocks.
I'm not a huge fan of covers either, however, 'Buckcherry's version of 'Anything Anything' (originally by the brilliant 'Dramarama') blows your freekin' head off!
An assembly of gold from 'Run-D.M.C.', 'Twisted Sister', 'the Eels' and, the resplendent 'Ween' to top it off!
It's a little nostalgic trip wrapped in plastic!

5OUTSTANDING  Jun 24, 2006
Granted there were a few more songs on the movie I would like to see on the CD, the CD didnt fall short of my expectations AT ALL!!!!!

5Road Trip  May 08, 2006
I found the movie and the lyrics were well proportioned. The movie itself related to everyone who has ever been traveling, except for old foggies. I'm 45 and I still keep in touch with todays music. I listen to lyrics as well as beat.Your soundtract was right on the money for the movie .However, I do like certain types of sound.I liked about 6 out of 10 songs played.

1Road Trip Falls Short  Mar 23, 2006
The movie has a very long list of great music. The CD is pathetic. The person who decided to push this garbage as the official music from Road Trip should be fired. I feel fiscally raped!

5fromaphotograph, you are an idiot  Feb 08, 2005
the eels song "mr e's beautiful blues"on this soundtrack is the exact same song as the one entitled "mr e's beautiful blues" on daisies of the galaxy. i dont know what you are on. and by the way mr. e's beautiful blues on daisies of the galaxy is an extra track, not listed on the back of the CD. that might be part of your problem.
i give this soundtrack 5 stars solely on the merits of the eels contribution.
