Motley's gone fully Alternative! Jul 01, 2010 Motley Crue has been very fortunate to have four incredible albums to their credit!
Like Metallica the downfall started with experimental/pop producer, Bob Rock. My least favorite Album but these guys, (who are my heroes) is "Dr. Feelgood" a pop album that won them alot of younger fans that were to young for their early material. This album, I'll be honest and to the point is an attempt, with the exception of the tidal track an attempt at remaking the John Corabi self titled and forgotten album in the 90's with Vince! It's an alternative album! Dark with very slow guitars. On the guitar work, Hey Nikki, I love Mick but he needs a young stud to inspire him and help him out. The addition of a younger hot shot player would have made this album faster, that's for sure and invigorate the Crue! Anyway they are not done yet and with classic albums like; Theater of pain and shout at the devil, they may not be done yet. Long live the Crue, with a new guitar player to help the Mickster!

Keep it comin Crue! Jun 28, 2010 I'm a huuuge fan of the Crue, and I love all their albums, and I gotta say.. this is a pretty solid comeback considering times have changed and so will the music. They still kept their sleazy lyrical style in it and its straight up rock, just how I like it. Keep it comin Crue!!

SAINTS OF LA Mar 23, 2010 THIS CD IS AWESOME. NEW MUSIC, NEW LYRICS, SAME OL BAND. BACK TO THE ROOTS OF HARD ROCK!
This CD is insanely good. Feb 15, 2010 After reading The Dirt by Motley Crue I decided to check out their most recent release Saints of Los Angeles. I admit my expectations were low after hearing their last two efforts Generation Swine and New Tattoo. Was I ever shocked! This is one of the best rock/metal CD's I've ever heard. The songs are tight and sound great. Mean riffs with down and dirty lyrics about the Crue's early days when they were struggling and trying to make it. Of course, along their way to the top, you hear about the woman, the drugs, the fights and craziness that was (and is) Motley Crue.
Vince's voice sounds great. He sounds just as good as he did 20 years ago on Dr. Feelgood. Tommy's drumming is awesome. He brings so much energy to each song. If you listen to New Tattoo you definitely hear the lack of power behind the songs because they had a different drummer then. Nikki lays down some great grooves too. It's funny to read in The Dirt that when Nikki was young he couldn't play a single note, let alone even know what a bass guitar looked like! He has come a long way. And finally Mick Mars. Unbelievable riffs and solos. I always thought he was a good guitarist, but this might be his finest performance he's ever recorded.
Overall, this is CD is great. Every song is good. My favorites being What's It Gonna Take, Saints of Los Angeles, White Trash Circus and Goin' Out Swingin'. Regardless if you are a Crue fan or not, if you like heavy and mean rock 'n' roll you will love The Saints of Los Angeles.
