Seal Takes On Soul Classics Feb 28, 2010
Seal, a.k.a. Mr. Heidi Klum, is one of the most sound forward R&B artists around today, and it took the help of David Foster to come up with this collection of soul classics, and he did a great job of it, too. His takes on songs such as "A Change Is Gonna Come", "Stand By Me", and "If You Don't Know Me By Now" just can't be beat. His version of "It's A Man's, Man's World" could even rival the Godfather of Soul himself. For Seal fans, and at least any sould fan, this album come highly recommended.

Seal is great, but the music all sounds like some crappy machine work. Drums the worst.

If you love old school, you will love this cd. I've heard some of these song done by other artist and did not do so well with them. Seal did a wonderful job with these. Keep up the good work!!!

I love Seal's music but this fell short of the mark for the same reasons that some have pointed out. It does lack "soul" and it is very hard to match or even surpass the original versions. Queen Latifah pulled it off in her Dana Owens album, but this one just doesn't reach the same peaks. Seal has a powerful voice and dynamic range, but it all seems wasted on this effort...which is a real shame.
