An album that everyone should have Aug 15, 2010 I must beging by saying this: I am an Aerosmith fan since I was 10 years old and their music is part of my soundtrack (sort of speak), but I knew the band when they release the Get a Grip album, because I was born in the mid eighties! So when i started listening to their old records I was more an more in love with these tunes.
Toys in the Attic is, without a doubt, one of the best materials of this legendary band. From the original version of Walk this Way, to Sweet Emotion, and Adam's Apple this record is simply AMAZING. Steven Tyler's incredible an unique voice along the classic riffs by Joe Perry, and the performace, just the rare "click" of the entire guys (Tom, Joey and Brad). Classic, pure rock from the best age. The 70's!
Good rock album Jul 28, 2010 The album runs the distance of rock and roll. The album still sounds fresh and the songs stand up to what is out there now.. A great band from Boston
A Fantastic Album by a Fantastic Band Jul 10, 2010 I will never have the same understanding for this band that someone who was my age when it came out will. I'll never know that feeling of listening to Stones and Elvis, maybe some Beatles, and hearing this album for the first time and I am genuinely saddened by this realization. One must realize that there is no "perfect" album without flops. Guns N' Roses came close with Appetite, and Toys has very few, maybe three. What it does have that Guns N' Roses will never hope to see is a few of the most well written songs recorded. Sweet Emotion may be overplayed, however if it is broken down to pieces, there isn't a single piece that couldn't stand alone by itself. Walk This Way needs little if any explanation and the title song never gets old. I loved the different tone "Uncle Salty" set without breaking the feel the album creates throughout and this will always be one of my favorites.
Music great - sound is crap Jun 16, 2010 I first bought this album on 8-track when it was originally released and that 8-track sounded better than this CD. I'm so dissapointed in the sound quality.
Remember the first CD that you heard of a song that you were familiar with and you heard thngs that you never knew were there? This is just the opposite; the recording is so muddy that things you know are there are inaudible. I had to check my settings to make sure that the kids hadn't turned the treble and bass all the way down.
This is no sizzle to the cymbals, no punch to the bass and no twang to the guitar. This CD sounds like it was mastered from an MP3 at the very lowest quality setting.
old school May 26, 2010 Iv'e loved this album ever since it was released.I Finally got it on CD.
